American Photographer in Medellín
Hey, I’m Dennis. I’ve been a photographer for over 20 years. Along the way I’ve shot for big newspapers - the New York Times and the Washington Post - photographed more than 500 weddings, and made corporate headshots for clients like Google, JP Morgan Chase, and the American Red Cross. I also covered disasters for the Red Cross: hurricanes in Texas, tornadoes in Alabama, floods in North Dakota, you name it.
That work has taken me to over 65 countries, including a stretch shooting for the Discovery Channel. Along the way I’ve been arrested in Bosnia, bent over with dysentery in Pakistan, had lunch with the Taliban, been manhandled by Stevie Wonder’s bodyguards, and once told Joe Biden to change his shirt.

These days I work between the U.S. and Colombia, but I spend most of my time here. I have a studio in the Laureles neighborhood, and I’ll do selected location shoots around the city too.
I’m trying to run an American-style business in Colombia. That means transparent pricing, automated payments and emails, and a schedule I actually keep. You’ll know what things cost, you’ll get your confirmations and reminders, I’ll start on time, and you’ll get your images on time too.

My main interest is photographing people - business portraits, families, high fashion, whatever gives me something to work with. Medellín is a great town for it. People here let you shoot just about anywhere, which isn’t something I can say about a lot of the places I’ve worked.
So that’s me. If you’ve got an idea for a picture, or want to borrow one of mine, you know where to find me.
